An Exciting Adventure To Bonsu Eco Park In Ghana's Eastern Paradise
After a tough term of getting ready for their exams, Form 3 students from North Hills International School had a blast! They joined Form 1 and 2 buddies and headed on a super fun trip to Bonsu Eco Park in Ghana’s Eastern Region. This cool adventure happened on August 18th, 2023.
Picture this: a bright Friday morning with students and teachers all set to roll. At 8:00 a.m., they hopped on the bus, loaded with yummy snacks and lunch. The journey from busy Greater Accra to the peaceful Eastern Region was like a cool story unfolding. Some sang along to music, some enjoyed the views outside, and some had great chats with friends. It was a break from school hustle!
After some hours on the road, they took a break at Linda Dor Rest Stop in Bunsu. Everyone stretched and snacked. But the real magic was waiting at Bonsu Eco Park.
Stepping into the park was like entering a magical land! Students were all smiles seeing nature at its best. The very entrance wowed them with a monkey chilling in a tree. The park was a hub of fun things to do: walking on tree walkways, zooming on a zip line, riding horses, and a cool tour to learn about nature.
The first thing they did was a nature tour. It was a mix of learning and fun. They found out about a tree that makes monkey pots with monkey nuts – named because monkeys munch on them. They also got the lowdown on cola nitida, prekese tree, cinnamon tree, and more cool stuff.
The journey back was like the cherry on top. Everyone had huge smiles – the goal of taking a break from school stress was a big success. Singing, dancing, and a sports debate heated up the bus, making the trip finale super fun.
In their minds, this day would always be a reminder of the joy of exploring and making great memories with friends. As the bus rolled back home, tired but happy faces carried memories that would last a lifetime.
Now, brace yourself for adventure! They walked on hanging bridges for a canopy walk – excitingly scary! The zip line was even more adventurous and kind of scary-fun. And don’t forget the horse ride – some screamed, some laughed, all had a great time!
